The organisation for Professional C, C++ and Java Users - from Novice to Expert

ACCU is a worldwide association of people with an interest in C, C++ and Java.
Its members include people just starting out with C as well as professional programmers and companies writing software. It is run by a volunteer committee, and on behalf of the membership maintains a web site and aim to produce two journals, six times a year and to organise both a spring and autumn conference.

The main ACCU journal is C Vu, which typically contains 70 pages of articles, letters and the world renowned book reviews, all produced by members.

A second journal "Overload", produced concurrently with C Vu, is available for more advanced programmers, which concentrates on issues such as class structure, object oriented design etc.

This web site gives access to discussions on various topics together with code from the journals, book reviews and back issues.

A handbook containing membership details is sent once a year in December.

The one day spring conference is in April together with the AGM, the three day autumn conference is in September. Both conferences give an opportunity to hear world class speakers from the fields of C, C++ and Java. Members can attend at reduced rates.

Full membership gives all the above benefits.

Basic membership gives all the above benefits with the exception of "Overload".

A full time student discount of 50% is offered on both types of membership.

ACCU helps to fund UK Standards work through the ISDF fund. This goes to assist UK technical experts attending standards working group meetings. ACCU members who contribute have the option of asking to be provided with access to ISO C and C++ standardisation documents.

Our fixed membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st. Applications up to June 30th are deemed to be for the full current membership year, so you will receive all back issues to September 1st.

Applications received from 1st July are deemed to be for the following membership year. From March to June you may extend your membership duration at a special rate.
