The overview section gives the features and differences of C (KR), ANSI C and (Turbo) C++. There is also a section on how to use the various compiler options but not a "How to Install Turbo C++" section. The book is meant as a companion to, not a replacement for, the Turbo C++ manuals.
The calls are indexed alphabetically by type inside the front and back covers. Each call starts with a compatibility chart for TC (1-2 & C++) MSC (3-6), Quick C (1-2.5), ANSI, UNIX (sys V) and Xenix. Also given are the names of equivalent calls. There follows a clear and very complete description of the call, it's uses and an example program. All the programs are complete and runable.
To cut the cost of Turbo C++, when it replaced Turbo C as the entry level package, some of the reference manuals were put online. This is the "missing manual" with the advantage of having been written by users. I.e. a second opinion. Although most of the information is online in TC++ I would buy this book. Unless you have a laptop you can't read on-line help on the train! The only negative point is that there is no disk available. Thoroughly recommended, I would buy it.
