This book is part of the Scientific American Library and those familiar with the style of that magazine will have some idea as to what to expect. Unlike many books in that series, this one is substantially original. By this I mean that it is not composed of reprints from the Scientific American.

The book has been well researched and the bibliography for each chapter is provided at the end of the book.

It is not about programming, and for most of us refers to hardware far out of our reach but where will we be ten or fifteen years from now?

If you would like a glimpse of how massive computing power is changing the world we live in, this would be a good place to start. I almost offered this book as a prize for a Programming Challenge but I like it too much so I'll hang on to it.
