Those of you who have come across the previous books in this series that were co-authored by Peter Coad with Yourdon should not be put off. This is the book that working programmers have been waiting for. The Analysis and Design is still there but the focus is now firmly where we can appreciate it - the code. This is developed in both C++ and Smalltalk. The heart of the book is based on four projects. It is full of good sense and written in a very readable style.
Whether you like the Coad/Yourdon style of analysis and design this is a book that professional programmers (and those who have ambitions to become such) should read carefully. If you don't agree with what the authors say that is fine but put reasons to your disagreement because if you don't your just being emotive. You will rapidly make up the time you take to read this book by being a better organised programmer.
Just to show that they understand the needs of their target audience, all the source code is on the disk that comes with the book.
