In the fast changing world of C++ it is difficult to cover everything and sometimes an explanation that seems entirely adequate to the expert may prove to be misleading when read by a novice. Considering the compactness of the book and the extensive range of examples packed in I can forgive the author if he sometimes is less than crystal clear. I must admit that I have never had any problem with understanding his explanations but I know a couple of other programmers who have felt that some of them have a potential for being misunderstood.
If you are new to C++ you could do far worse than get a copy to help you get started. If you are an experienced C++ programmer and have to move around this is an excellent compact reference book. If you find yourself constantly interrupted by requests for language information this might just be the book to lend.
Many of his examples are new to me which suggests that the author has a good imagination and does not have to comb other sources for ideas. I wonder what Conor Sexton would achieve if asked to write a full scale book on C++. Excellent value for money.
