Having just installed Windows 98 on one of my machines (I need to know what my clients are facing) I can attest to just how useful this book is. The lead author has his own unique style and just the right sense of irreverence (at least for me). He does not start out with a premise that MS is malicious, nor that they are wonderful.

The advice and information he gives on all aspects are worth every penny you pay. Unlike most books on the market, this one was not written on the basis of some early beta version of the software. As you are clearly technically minded, if you are using Windows 98 this book is worth having close at hand. It is big, but try to take the time to read it.
