Another excellent course book - what would you expect from the keyboards of such authorities as Aho and Ullman.

However you should note its title well because that is exactly what it is, a first class book on the foundations of Computer Science. You need some form of programming language for such a book and it is nice to see that C has become sufficiently acceptable in some parts of academia to allow it to be used for such a purpose. Perhaps one or two more English universities might take note.

This is very definitely a book for students and not for working programmers. If you are a student and are dissatisfied with your current course books, check this one (or the original Pascal version if more appropriate to your University) and ask why, with books such as this one available you have to put up with whatever second rate rubbish is being dumped on you. Be careful that you are not talking directly to one of the authors of the currently used texts.
