The first Win95 programming book worth recommending. Despite the subtitle "The Developer's Guide to the Win32 API for Windows NT 3.5 and Windows 95", vast areas of Win32 are left untouched. Richter concentrates on system programming issues and there is likely to be little overlap with Petzold. For instance he discusses threads, memory management, and exceptions in detail, but doesn't cover GDI or RPC. Differences between NT and Win95, and issues for porting Win16 code, are well-marked.
